Who we are?
Trefoil Engineering Consultants was founded by mechanical engineer Sanjay R. Desai on a simple observation: Indian manufacturers needed a partner who could take a requirement from a rough sketch to a running machine on the shop floor. Today the firm handles engineering drawings and 3D modelling, flexible packaging machinery, special purpose machines, automation, and reverse engineering of legacy equipment.
The same engineering discipline produced our best-known consumer product. The Kansa-2 Twin Spin Foot Massager takes the traditional kansya thali ritual and turns it into a patented machine that any household, clinic or wellness centre can run daily. Alongside machinery, Trefoil also runs a literary division that publishes the Budding children’s career series and Marathi titles.

Meet The Founder
Sanjay R. Desai
A mechanical engineer with over 35 years in machinery design and development, Sanjay R. Desai has spent his career solving production problems for manufacturing units – packaging lines, special-purpose machines, automation retrofits and the drawings that make them buildable.
As an entrepreneur he founded Trefoil Engineering Consultants and grew it from a consulting desk into a firm that designs, manufactures and services its own products. The patented Kansa-2 Twin Spin Foot Massager is his signature invention — an engineer’s answer to a ritual he watched his elders perform by hand.
As an author he created the Budding series, career picture-books that introduce children aged 6 to 10 to professions such as dentistry, mechanical engineering and event planning. In Marathi he has published Kalakari Nisargachi and Kawadase, and he writes regularly as a blogger and content writer.
He is an active participant in Marathi literary groups and reading circles, and his book launches have featured at events including the KBBF Global Meet in Dombivli. In social work he contributes to the organising committee of a primary school and to community initiatives across Thane and Dombivli.
